Damp reports

We damp proof properties by identifying the root cause of dampness and either fixing it during the survey, depending on complexity, permission and time, or by giving detailed explanation and recommendations for how a general builder or home owner can fix the problem. We are independent of contractors so have no profit motive to over engineer solutions.

We do this because we are surveyors who specialise in damp, mould and timber, with experience in how to solve damp and how not to solve damp.

Standard fee £250 for the survey and report

Wherever possible symptoms, root causes and treatments will be explained by reference to previous examples.

Where necessary we will include reference to images taken at the property, such as for homebuyers and landlords not normally present at the survey.

£100 extra for more complex report

Reports written in anticipation of a dispute take more time, involving more complex investigation, consideration, explanation and have more professional indemnity risks attached. Typically these will be reports written for leaseholders or freeholders. Reports advising treatment of Dry rot, tenant landlord disputes. We charge an extra £100 for these reports and would appreciate being told in advance.
